We operate in a river town and treat that as an operating constraint. All work complies with the General Environmental Duty (s25, Environment Protection Act 2017 VIC) and Lower Murray Water's Permanent Water Saving Rules. The standing rule on every site is: nothing but rain enters a stormwater drain.
Controls
Pressure/wash-down work: before starting — nearest stormwater entry located and covered; containment (booms/berms/vacuum recovery) deployed; captured water disposed to sewer under trade-waste consent or otherwise lawfully; containment photographed as a compliance record on every job.
Chemical-free first, chlorine-free always: windows and solar are cleaned with purified water only; pressure washing is performed by mechanical friction with water (no chlorinated products are carried or used by this business — a standing policy decision); detergents and degreasers are used only where a task requires them, biodegradable where available, and spot-applied rather than broadcast.
Water efficiency: trigger nozzles on all hand-held hoses; high-pressure equipment operating at or below 9 L/min; hard-surface cleaning performed only under the Permanent Water Saving Rules' permitted purposes (stain removal, health/safety hazard, construction clean), stated on the invoice.
Energy: the service vehicle is a plug-in hybrid charged from rooftop solar; tools are battery/240V-electric in preference to petrol.
Waste: job waste removed under a priced disposal line; loads covered in transit; green waste to authorised facilities; chemical containers triple-rinsed and disposed per label.
Restrictions readiness: if staged water restrictions are declared, affected services are re-scoped or paused rather than worked around.
