Working at reach, with chemicals, water, electricity and public interfaces — while driving between a dozen sites a day — is incompatible with impairment of any kind. This policy applies to the operator and to any future worker or subcontractor without exception.
Alcohol: zero on any working day until tools-down; never on client sites. Vehicle operated at 0.00 BAC during work hours as best practice regardless of licence class.
Drugs: no illicit drug use, full stop. Prescription/pharmacy medication that may impair (drowsiness warnings) is disclosed to the affected work — tasks are re-scheduled rather than pushed through.
Fatigue: work is capped when judgement is degraded — no fine height-adjacent or electrical-adjacent work after poor sleep; long summer days are split around the midday heat rather than extended into it; driving between towns follows rest-break common sense.
Heat as an impairment: heat exhaustion symptoms (dizziness, confusion, cramps) stop the job immediately — see WHS Policy heat controls.
Client-site programs: where a client site runs drug & alcohol testing for contractors, we participate without objection.
